PRESTIGIOUS SCIENCE AWARDS DECLARED October 18, 2016
Manama: The results of nationwide science talent search examination (Sastra Pratibha Contest
2016) declared at the Indian Embassy Bahrain by Second Secretary Mr. Anand Prakash. The
contest was jointly organized by Science India Forum Bahrain, Vijnana Bharati India and
8087 students from 8 schools in Bahrain participated in the first level contest held on 2nd June
2016. The 80 students who scored above 80% marks qualified for the second level contest which
was conducted as a Science Camp with quiz, scientific reasoning, audio-visual aptitude and viva
voce rounds at the Asian School Bahrain premises. The Science Camp was lead by Prof. Mahesh
Nair, Vijnana Bharati India and Dr. Ravi Warrior.
The 16 students declared as “Sastra Pratibhas”: Chakradhara Chowdhary, Kapil Rajesh Kavitha,
Brindha Arumugasamy (Asian School), Navaneet Anilkumar (Al Noor International), Steffy Ann
Philip Jagath Jeevan Sha (Indian School), Ravi Kumar, Advait Vaze, Ansh Katyayan, Sama
Walke, Tushya Kalpada, Varun Ajith, Bhanuram Balusu (New Millenium-DPS), Kizhakoot
Devika Babu (New Indian), Gowtham Krishna N S (New Indian), Piyush Rajesh (Bahrain Indian
School).
The Sastra Pratibhas will have the unique opportunity to visit prominent scientific establishments
in India and to interact with senior scientists working there. The entire contests and the visits are
free of cost to students.
The awards were declared by Embassy Second Secretary Anand Prakash in presence of SIF
Advisory Board Chairman Dr. Ravi Warrior, Advisory Board members Dr. Babu Ramachandran
Dr. Shyam Kumar, SIF President Rajeesh Kumar, Vice President Vinod Manikkara, Gen
Secretary Prasanth Dharmaraj, Joint Secretary Anilal, Executive Committee members Sajeevan,
Chandrasekharan, Mukesh Mukundan and Academic coordinator Sham Kutty.
